The Point System

There is a point system on here and it is very similar to a ranking system. Actually, that's how you get ranks. The more points you have, the better your rank gets.

If you want your post to gain or loose points put a poll at the end of your post:
For the description: "Point worthy?"
Options: "Yes(+1 point), No(-1 point)"

Please follow that layout so each post voting will be similar across the board

You gain points for the following:

• Popularity of your post. In other words, if people regularly comment on your post or add to your argument, you get points.
  
• Good solutions to problems.
  
• Excellent arguments.
  
• Accurate information that backs up your statement. This essentially works almost hand-in-hand with the previous method.
  
• Staying involved, even if you've been proven wrong.
  
• Remaining aggressive though calm in your arguments. Just because you have to be civil doesn't mean you can't try to prove someone wrong who just tried proving you wrong.
  
• Going somewhere with your statements. In other words, don't bring up World War II and then stop. Try and work it in your argument and relate it to the modern day.
  

You will lose points for the following:

• Flaming and immaturity. Remember, be civil and mature.
  
• Using blatantly false information or trying to pass off something that can't or hasn't yet been proven to be fact. This means claiming that God willed something to happen is going to cost you points for you religious folk.
  
• Essentially quitting after being proven wrong. Basically, this means that you put down everyone else's ideas after making your own.
  
• Remember how people made fun of John Kerry for not making up his mind on a topic? Doing that loses you points.
  
• Going nowhere with your points. Really this is only if you make a confusing statement and don't explain yourself.
  
• Essentially being an idiot.
